The Irish Credit Bureau & bad credit history

Any time you apply for a loan or a mortgage with a Bank or Building Society, they will perform a credit search with the Irish Credit Bureau, to see if you have a good credit history or a bad credit history.

The Irish Credit Bureau keeps records of how you pay your loans and credit cards - whether you pay your loans on time or if you are in arrears with any current or previous loans.  They also keep a record of every time you apply for a loan or mortgage

The bad news is that they keep records for 5 years, so if you've had bad credit problems in the last 5 years, most banks or building societies will not be interested in offering mortgages or loans.

You can get a copy of your credit history from the Irish Credit Bureau by filling in a request form and returning it with 6 euros to:

Bad Credit History with the Irish Credit Bureau & getting a mortgage

The good news is that unlike the traditional Irish banks, some lenders will consider offering mortgages even if you have a bad credit record with the Irish Credit Bureau.

So Even if:
- you've been turned down for credit elsewhere
- you have mortgage arrears

- you have court judgments against you
- or you have no proof of income or a poor credit rating

…we could give you the go-ahead to remortgage and raise the funds you need today.

Take the first step in making a fresh start - apply for a no-obligation quote

An arrangement fee is charged on non status mortgages.  We will confirm the arrangement fee to you in writing.  You do not need this money upfront - it can be taken out of your mortgage cheque.
